Defending the Caveman - Johannesburg And …

Defending the Caveman

Event Information

Event Type: On Stage, Comedy

Tim Plewman, the "only original" master of "Defending the Caveman" is back by popular demand, in the longest-running and most successful solo comedy in South African theatre history.

Caveman still holds the record of the longest running non-musical solo comedy of all time on Broadway. What more can be said about this wonderful show that so humorously exposes the hunter and gatherer in us all and has played to over a million people?

Penned by Rob Becker, Plewman adapted the script for Southern Africa and went on to win the Vita Award for Best Actor in a comedy.

Tim Plewman`s way of managing to `capture` his audience in his hands is palpable. It is an incredible performance with one person on stage giving of his all. You can laugh one moment and be digging your partner in his/her ribs because of the truth of the comments, the next. All the tales ring home in such an incredible way. It is extraordinarily funny and worth every cent to spend an evening laughing until you cry.

Updated, upgraded and totally uploadable to today`s world of tweets, selfies and six million Facebook friends, this production is still a hilarious, affectionate and insightful comedy that explains why men and women see the world so differently, and will have you looking at your partner with new eyes.
After years of hearing that all men are assholes, the Caveman once again stands up to be counted.

And being a troglodyte, standing upright is not an easy thing to do.Come and have the last laugh with legendary actor Tim Plewman in his first "farewell season". This new production has been updated to reflect today`s world of tweeting, selfies and Facebook but still consists of the core comedy about why men and women see the world so differently. The show is the longest running solo play in Broadway history and has been seen in over 40 countries.
